Creating a life is good…but don’t forget to live the one you have
As the Sun shined overhead, I took notice of how relaxing the day became. The activity for that day included wine-tasting at a local vineyard and lounging about within the local flora. I was surrounded by green hills with a luscious vibrancy to the color and white Victorian homes that hid tasty wineries. A calm, and much-needed escape, from the busyness of life.
That day, for a brief moment in time, the world slowed down. I took notice of the chirping of birds and how cheerful it sounded. I felt the cool breeze of wind hitting my face. My system indulged in the pleasurable warmth of the day and peaceful atmosphere that I found myself in.
When the alcohol entered my mind, my thoughts began to wonder.
“When was the last time I paid attention to the world like this?”
Last weekend, I did something I haven’t done in a while. A rare thing that I often don’t allow myself the privilege to enjoy.
I lived in the moment and enjoyed life.
For many of us, this pandemic was a serious wake-up call.
