As a former Texas resident, I can unfortunately see this. Anti LGBT+ attitude is very normalized in the South with Texas probably being the worst one about it. It's messed up to turn people away over something as petty as sexual orientation. Hopefully, after the election, attitudes and policies will change to be more accepting.
