My Medium Goal For The Rest Of 2021 Is To Do The Work

No plan is complete unless you put in the work to complete it

To be a writer, you have to write.

As simple as that sounds, it’s shockingly easy to underestimate the importance of this statement. You can’t call yourself a writer if you barely write anything. At that point, you have a fascination with writing or a strong interest in writing, but it’s hard to take someone seriously if they don’t commit to their word.

As much as it pains me to say it, I often fall into this trap myself.

Throughout the past year, I have written as much as possible. My publishing frequency is usually 3–4 high-quality posts per week. Like many working adults, I have responsibilities and other commitments that often impede my creative energy and time management for writing. It’s just a part of being a working, middle-class adult.

However, I know in my heart, I can do better.

That if I really wanted to get serious about it, I can write much more than that while experiencing too much of a drop in quality. If, at all.

Maybe I’m just underestimating my true potential.

The Top Writers of Medium all have one thing in common: they write high-quality, thought-provoking work damn near every day without skipping a beat. Their work is transformative while respecting their audience and not taking shortcuts.

I’m challenging myself to push to another level.

My goal for the rest of 2021 is to write and publish every day for the remainder of the year. Regardless of the end result, I want to put something out and commit to a level of sustained quality. This is the first time I have committed to writing every day on this platform and I want to see how far that takes me.

With all that being said, I love and respect you all, and thank you for showing up and reading this.

I’ll see you tomorrow!
