Sadly, immediately after it was confirmed he died, there are people that were quick to bring up this moment in his life. Many people celebrated the good he brought in this world while there are other people that constantly remind of everyone of this event. I’ve read some pretty nasty comments and articles in regards to this.
As for the article, it asks a simple question. Does he deserve forgiveness for an event that happened years ago after living a positive life in the the aftermath of that event?
Whether you agree or disagree is not for me to say. That’s the personal opinion of whoever reads this article and it’s meant. It’s meant to be a thought provoking and challenging article. It does not lead to an easy answer.
I personally admit that I should have included a trigger warning as it does reference sexual assault. As someone that has been indirectly affected by sexual assault, it was definitely the most challenging article I have ever wrote about an already complicated subject.
And I do agree. Consent is important but it can be confusing especially with mixed signals. However many individuals differ on what constitutes as consent and the answer can change depending on the situation.
In any case, whether you like or dislike this article, I appreciate that you took the time to read it. Hope you’re doing well.
