Welcome to my first Round-Up!

First, a quick introduction. My name’s Dayon Cotton, an avid enthusiast of writers and, more specifically, the Medium platform. In real life, I’m a fast talker and that is reflected in much of my writing. So if you enjoy quick talking thought pieces, you’re in the right place!

I have named this newsletter— The Best Day. It’s a tribute to my personal drive to commit to the best version of myself with each day. The Best day starts with you!

I have been ramping up my Medium publishing over the past 5 months and have been loving the process of writing here. It’s been equal parts fear and success but I love every moment. It’s the perfect outlet for a my rapid fire, offbeat, smartass approach to life.

As such, I have decided to do a periodic roundup of my articles on Medium.

In addition big thank you to ZUVA, Editor in Chief, of the An Injustice! publication. Her editing has been a big help in keeping my fast talking, and thus my writing, focused and fluent. Much appreciated.

Conquering the Sneaky Demon of Confidence Drinking My first article to be published under a Medium-owned publication, LEVEL! It explores my early insecurities and my misguided attempt to fix them with drinking.

Because that went well *sarcasm*

The Hashtag #Girldad is Earned, Not Given — Everyone thinks their a great dad, but let’s not kid ourselves here. It’s never that simple in reality and a trendy hashtag isn’t fixing that.

Using Focus To Overcome Writer’s BurnoutEveryone get’s tired and writers are no exception. Here’s how I regained some lost focus during my burnout phase.

Also, my first article for “The Brave Writer” publication. Check it out sometime if you’re looking for great writing advice.

The Importance of Coexisting with your PastWe all have a past, but it shouldn’t control your present.

My first article for the “Assemblage” publication. Looking for new, thought provoking pieces in a publication with a high view account? Look there.

That’s all I got.

Thank you for the love and support to all that follow and read my work! I appreciate all of you more than you know!
