When you’re living life at 100 miles per hour, it’s inevitable that you will crash if you don’t slow down.

Lately, I did just that. I crashed into a wall and now I had to figure out the best way to move forward.

My life as a writer has really taken off in the past few months and it has led to a spiral of increasing success, imposter syndrome and personal self-loathing.

At first, I followed general wisdom and dedicated myself to writing every day. My personal goal was to develop my skill as a writer on a daily basis. Whether it was publishing on Medium, writing to myself on my trusty iPhone, or simply finding time to work on personal writing projects, I was mentally deadset to practice my craft as frequently as possible.

All of this while maintaining a full-time job and monitoring the relationships in my life. Sounds easy right?

So I did. Since November of 2019, I have persistently improved upon myself on the Medium platform and everything was going great for a while…

…until I suddenly realized one day how I exhausting it is to maintain that pace.
