You might be right.

I have read some other Dave Chappelle pieces from other popular Black Medium writers that downplayed the issues of trans people. I admit, I do have a bias for Dave Chappelle as he's a hero in the Black Community...but that doesn't excuse the harm his comedy is doing. Made worse by other Black writers downplaying the harm he may be causing , intentional or not.

On top of that, the issues of trans people, and LGBTQ in general, are heavily downplayed in the black community. I have LGBTQ friends but I don't know the full scale of what they experienced.
